2021 Team P.E.P.P.E.R Presentation!
The presentation below was held over Zoom at the end of 2021. It includes a description of the rover, the progress of our work in 2021, and includes a handful of planned additions to the rover (some of which we have already progressed on in 2022!) The video begins with a short interlude (~1.5 minutes) containing pictures of the Academy's resident dog, and the only permitted passenger of the rover, Peppa!

Team PEPPER is the name the students have given to our rover project. It stands for Particularly Experimental, Peppa Portaging Experimental Rover. The consists of two educators, Nicholas and William, and the student members are Sarah, Gianluca, Ryan, Jonathan, Christian, Devan, Aadi, Jason and two of the youngest members working on prototypes - Marcus and Natasha!
The rover is our take on the famous rocker-bogey style rover. The ultimate goal is to participate in the 2023 Australian Rover Challenge. We have designed the rover using SolidWorks, and the prototyping has been 3D printed and is in its 4th iteration (see the video to the left!). |
Rube Goldberg Machine!Congratulations to our group of Apprentice Engineers on completing their Rube Goldberg Machine! Ricardo, Xavier, Gianluca & Lachlan worked well all Term and after many (MANY!) attempts, we finished with a stable and reliable machine with fun flow-on effects

2021 Rover AnimationA short animation of team P.E.P.P.E.R's rover. This was first presented at the 2021 end of year Academy address.
After engineering their RGB LED schematics, coding their project, wiring it all up... AND finally! debugging their code, this group was able to create these stunning displays!
